We present an upgraded version of TRICERATOPS, a software package designed to calculate false positive probabilities for planet candidates identified by the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS). This enhanced framework now incorporates ground-based light curves in separate bandpasses, which are routinely obtained as part of the candidate vetting process. We apply this upgraded framework to explore the planetary nature of 14 TESS planet candidates, combining primarily J-band light curves acquired with the 200 inch Hale Telescope at Palomar Observatory with complementary archival observations from the Las Cumbres Observatory Global Telescope, the Fred Lawrence Whipple Observatory, and the Teide Observatory, along with existing TESS data and contrast curves from high-resolution imaging. As a result of this analysis we statistically validate (false positive probability < 1.5% and nearby false positive probability < 0.1%) six new planets in five systems: TOI-1346 b, TOI-1346 c, TOI-2719 b, TOI-4155 b, TOI-6000 b, and TOI-6324 b. For these systems, we provide updated estimates of their stellar and planetary properties derived from the TESS and ground-based observations. These new systems contain planets with radii between 0.9 and 6 R ⊕ and orbital periods between 0.3 and 5.5 days. Finally, we use our upgraded version of TRICERATOPS to quantify the relative importance of multiwavelength transit photometry and high-resolution imaging for exoplanet candidate validation, and discuss which kinds of candidates typically benefit the most from ground-based multicolor transit observations.

While obliquity measurements have been extensively applied to hot Jupiters and short-period planets, they remain rare for cold and long-period planets due to observational challenges, particularly their long transit durations. We report the detection of the RM effect for the 19-hour transit of HIP 41378 f, a temperate giant planet on a 542-day orbit, observed through a worldwide spectroscopic campaign. We measured a slight projected obliquity of 21 ± 8° and a significant 3D spin-orbit angle of 52 ± 6°, based on the measurement of the stellar rotation period. HIP 41378 f is part a transiting system of five planets with planets close to mean motion resonances. The observed misalignment likely reflects a primordial tilt of the stellar spin axis relative to the protoplanetary disk, rather than dynamical interactions. HIP 41378 f is the first non-eccentric long-period planet (P>100 days) observed with the RM effect, opening new constraints on planetary formation theories. This observation should motivate the exploration of planetary obliquities across a longer range of orbital distances through international collaboration.

These planets are generally believed to have formed outside the snowline and migrated to their current orbits. Because they are sufficiently distant from their host stars, they mitigate proximity effects and so offer valuable insights into planet formation and evolution. Here, we present the study of seven systems, three of which – TOI-2295, TOI-2537, and TOI-5110 – are newly discovered planetary systems. Through the analysis of TESS photometry, SOPHIE radial velocities (RVs), and high-spatial resolution imaging, we found that TOI-2295b, TOI-2537b, and TOI-5110b are transiting warm Jupiters with orbital periods ranging from 30 to 94 d, masses between 0.9 and 2.9 MJ, and radii ranging from 1.0 to 1.5 RJ. Both TOI-2295 and TOI-2537 harbor at least one additional, outer planet. Their outer planets – TOI-2295c and TOI-2537c – are characterized by orbital periods of 966.5-4.2+4.3 and 1920-140+230 d, respectively, and minimum masses of 5.61-0.24+0.23 and 7.23-0.45+0.52 MJ, respectively. We have also investigated and characterized the two recently reported warm Jupiters TOI-1836b and TOI-5076b, which we independently detected in SOPHIE RVs. Our new data allow for further discussion of their nature and refinement of their parameters. Additionally, we study the planetary candidates TOI-4081.01 and TOI-4168.01. For TOI-4081.01, despite our detection in RVs, we cannot rule out perturbation by a blended eclipsing binary, and we thus exercise caution regarding its planetary nature. On the other hand, we identify TOI-4168.01 as a firm false positive; its RV curve exhibits a large amplitude in an antiphase relation with the transit ephemeris observed by TESS, indicating that the detected event is the eclipse of a secondary star rather than a planetary transit. Finally, we highlight interesting characteristics of these new planetary systems. The transits of TOI-2295b are highly grazing, with an impact parameter of 1.056-0.043+0.063. This leaves its radius uncertain but potentially makes it an interesting probe of gravitational dynamics in its two-planet system, as transit shapes for grazing planets are highly sensitive to even small variations in inclination. TOI-2537b, in turn, is a temperate Jupiter with an effective temperature of 307±15 K and can serve as a valuable low-irradiation control for models of hot Jupiter inflation anomalies. We also detected significant transit timing variations (TTVs) for TOI-2537b, which are likely caused by gravitational interactions with the outer planet TOI-2537c. Further transit observations are needed to refine the analysis of these TTVs and enhance our understanding of the system’s dynamics. Finally, TOI-5110b stands out due to its orbital eccentricity of 0.745-0.027+0.030, one of the highest planetary eccentricities discovered thus far. We find no conclusive evidence for an external companion, but an unseen planet with a semi-amplitude smaller than 10 m/s could nonetheless still be exciting its eccentricity.

We present the confirmation and characterization of the USP TOI-1347 b, a 1.8 ± 0.1 R⊕ planet on a 0.85 day orbit that was detected with photometry from the TESS mission. We measured radial velocities of the TOI-1347 system using Keck/HIRES and HARPS-N and found the USP to be unusually massive at 11.1 ± 1.2 M⊕. The measured mass and radius of TOI-1347 b imply an Earth-like bulk composition. A thin H/He envelope (>0.01% by mass) can be ruled out at high confidence. The system is between 1 and 1.8 Gyr old; therefore, intensive photoevaporation should have concluded. We detected a tentative phase-curve variation (3σ) and a secondary eclipse (2σ) in TESS photometry, which, if confirmed, could indicate the presence of a high-mean-molecular-weight atmosphere. We recommend additional optical and infrared observations to confirm the presence of an atmosphere and investigate its composition.

We carried out radial velocity measurements using Subaru/InfraRed Doppler (IRD), revealing that TOI-519\u00a0b is a planet with a mass of 0.463^(+0.082)_(-0.088) M_(Jup). We also found that the host star is metal rich ([Fe/H] = 0.27 \u00b1 0.09\u2009dex) and has the lowest effective temperature (T_(eff) = 3322 \u00b1 49\u2009K) among all stars hosting known close-in giant planets based on the IRD spectra and mid-resolution infrared spectra obtained with NASA Infrared Telescope Facility/SpeX. The core mass of TOI-519\u00a0b inferred from a thermal evolution model ranges from\u00a00 to \u223c30\u2009M_\u2295, which can be explained by both core accretion and disk instability models as the formation origins of this planet. However, TOI-519 is in line with the emerging trend that M\u00a0dwarfs with close-in giant planets tend to have high metallicity, which may indicate that they formed in the core accretion model. We present new simultaneous radial velocity (RV) measurements from Gemini-N/MAROON-X and Keck/HIRES, which we combined with literature RVs to derive a mass of M_ = 2.24 \u00b1 0.20 M_\u2295. We also used two new sectors of TESS photometry to improve the radius determination, finding R_b = 1.37 \u00b1 0.04 R_\u2295 and confirming that TOI-561 b is one of the lowest-density super-Earths measured to date (\u03c1_b = 4.8 \u00b1 0.5 g cm\u207b\u00b3). This density is consistent with an iron-poor rocky composition reflective of the host star's iron and rock-building element abundances; however, it is also consistent with a low-density planet with a volatile envelope. The equilibrium temperature of the planet (\u223c2300 K) suggests that this envelope would likely be composed of high mean molecular weight species, such as water vapor, carbon dioxide, or silicate vapor, and is likely not primordial. For the past two years, we have monitored 47 Sun-like stars hosting small transiting planets detected by TESS. We present the selection criteria used to assemble our sample and report the discovery of two distant giant\nplanets, TOI-1669 b and TOI-1694 c. For TOI-1669 b we find that M sin i = 0.573 \u00b1 0.074 M_J, P = 502 \u00b1 16 days,\nand e < 0.27, while for TOI-1694 c, M sin i = 1.05 \u00b1 0.05 M_J, P = 389.2 \u00b1 3.9 days, and e = 0.18 \u00b1 0.05. We also\nconfirmed the 3.8 days transiting planet TOI-1694 b by measuring a true mass of M = 26.1 \u00b1 2.2 M_\u2295. Tidally detached planets provide a relatively unbiased view of the primordial stellar obliquity distribution, as they cannot tidally realign within the system lifetime. We present the third result from our Stellar Obliquities in Long-period Exoplanet Systems (SOLES) survey: a measurement of the Rossiter\u2013McLaughlin effect across two transits of the tidally detached warm Jupiter TOI-1478 b with the WIYN/NEID and Keck/HIRES spectrographs, revealing a sky-projected spin\u2013orbit angle \u03bb = 6.2^(+5.9\u00b0)_(\u22125.5). Combining this new measurement with the full set of archival obliquity measurements, including two previous constraints from the SOLES survey, we demonstrate that, in single-star systems, tidally detached warm Jupiters are preferentially more aligned than closer-orbiting hot Jupiters. This finding has two key implications: (1) planets in single-star systems tend to form within aligned protoplanetary disks, and (2) warm Jupiters form more quiescently than hot Jupiters, which, in single-star systems, are likely perturbed into a misaligned state through planet\u2013planet interactions in the post-disk-dispersal phase. These associations enable study of planetary evolution by providing new opportunities to discover young exoplanets. A young association was recently identified by Tang et al. and F\u00fcrnkranz et al. using astrometry from Gaia (called \"Group-X\" by the former). In this work, we investigate the age and membership of this association, and we validate the exoplanet TOI 2048 b, which was identified to transit a young, late G dwarf in Group-X using photometry from TESS. We first identified new candidate members of Group-X using Gaia EDR3 data. To infer the age of the association, we measured rotation periods for candidate members using TESS data. The clear color\u2013period sequence indicates that the association is the same age as the 300 \u00b1 50 Myr old NGC 3532. We obtained optical spectra for candidate members that show lithium absorption consistent with this young age. Further, we serendipitously identify a new, small association nearby Group-X, which we call MELANGE-2. Measuring this angle for young planets helps illuminate the mechanisms that create misaligned orbits for older planets, as different processes could operate over timescales ranging from a few megayears to a gigayear. We present spectroscopic transit observations of the young exoplanet V1298 Tau b; we update the age of V1298 Tau to be 28 \u00b1 4 Myr based on Gaia EDR3 measurements. We observed a partial transit with Keck/HIRES and LBT/PEPSI, and detected the radial velocity anomaly due to the Rossiter\u2013McLaughlin effect. V1298 Tau b has a prograde, well-aligned orbit, with \n \n\n\n \n \u03bb\n =\n \n \n 4\n \n \n \u2212\n 10\n \n \n +\n 7\n \n \n \n \n deg. By combining the spectroscopically measured \n \n\n\n \n v\n sin\n \n \n i\n \n \n \u22c6\n \n \n \n \n and the photometrically measured rotation period of the host star we also find that the orbit is aligned in 3D, \n \n\n\n \n \u03c8\n =\n \n \n 8\n \n \n \u2212\n 7\n \n \n +\n 4\n \n \n \n \n deg. Finally, we combine our obliquity constraints with a previous measurement for the interior planet V1298 Tau c to constrain the mutual inclination between the two planets to be i\n mut = 0\u00b0 \u00b1 19\u00b0. This measurements adds to the growing number of well-aligned planets at young ages, hinting that misalignments may be generated over timescales of longer than tens of megayears. The number of measurements, however, is still small, and this population may not be representative of the older planets that have been observed to date. With a measured mass of 12 \u00b1 3 M_\u2295 and a radius of 9.2 \u00b1 0.1 R_\u2295, HIP 41378 f has an extremely low bulk density (0.09 \u00b1 0.02 g cm\u207b\u00b3). We measure the transit depth with a median precision of 84 ppm in 30 spectrophotometric channels with uniformly sized widths of 0.018 \u03bcm. Within this level of precision, the spectrum shows no evidence of absorption from gaseous molecular features between 1.1 and 1.7 \u03bcm. Comparing the observed transmission spectrum to a suite of 1D radiative-convective-thermochemical-equilibrium forward models, we rule out clear, low-metallicity atmospheres and find that the data prefer high-metallicity atmospheres or models with an additional opacity source, such as high-altitude hazes and/or circumplanetary rings. We explore the ringed scenario for HIP 41378 f further by jointly fitting the K2 and HST light curves to constrain the properties of putative rings. We also assess the possibility of distinguishing between hazy, ringed, and high-metallicity scenarios at longer wavelengths with the James Webb Space Telescope. surface properties of hot, terrestrial planets via emission spectroscopy. We identify 18 potentially terrestrial planet candidates detected by the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) that would make ideal targets for these observations. These planet candidates cover a broad range of planet radii (R_p \u223c 0.6\u20132.0 R_\u2295) and orbit stars of various magnitudes (K_s = 5.78\u201310.78, V = 8.4\u201315.69) and effective temperatures (T_(eff) \u223c 3000\u20136000 K). We use ground-based observations collected through the TESS Follow-up Observing Program (TFOP) and two vetting tools\u2014DAVE and TRICERATOPS\u2014to assess the reliabilities of these candidates as planets. We validate 13 planets: TOI-206 b, TOI-500 b, TOI-544 b, TOI-833 b, TOI-1075 b, TOI-1411 b, TOI-1442 b, TOI-1693 b, TOI-1860 b, TOI-2260 b, TOI-2411 b, TOI-2427 b, and TOI-2445 b. Seven of these planets (TOI-206 b, TOI-500 b, TOI-1075 b, TOI-1442 b, TOI-2260 b, TOI-2411 b, and TOI-2445 b) are ultra-short-period planets. TOI-1860 is the youngest (133 \u00b1 26 Myr) solar twin with a known planet to date. TOI-2260 is a young (321 \u00b1 96 Myr) G dwarf that is among the most metal-rich ([Fe/H] = 0.22 \u00b1 0.06 dex) stars to host an ultra-short-period planet. Long-term radial velocity (RV) surveys are pivotal to confirming these signals and generating a set of planetary masses and densities for planets receiving moderate to low irradiation from their host stars. Here we conduct RV observations of Kepler-1514 from the Keck I telescope using the High Resolution Echelle Spectrometer. From these data, we measure the mass of the statistically validated giant (1.108 \u00b1 0.023 R_J) exoplanet Kepler-1514 b with a 218-day orbital period as 5.28 \u00b1 0.22 M_ J. The bulk density of this cool (~390 K) giant planet is 4.82_(-0.25)^(+0.26) g cm\u207b\u00b3, consistent with a core supported by electron degeneracy pressure. We also infer an orbital eccentricity of 0.401_(-0.014)^(+0.013) from the RV and transit observations, which is consistent with planet\u2013planet scattering and disk cavity migration models. The Kepler-1514 system contains an Earth-size, Kepler Object of Interest on a 10.5-day orbit that we statistically validate against false-positive scenarios, including those involving a neighboring star. We found the sky-projected inclination of WASP-107b's orbit, relative to its host star's rotation axis, to be |\u03bb| = 118\u207a\u00b3\u2078\u208b\u2081\u2089 degrees. This confirms the misaligned/polar orbit that was previously suggested from spot-crossing events and adds WASP-107b to the growing population of hot Neptunes in polar orbits around cool stars. WASP-107b is also the fourth such planet to have a known distant planetary companion. We examined several dynamical pathways by which this companion could have induced such an obliquity in WASP-107b. We find that nodal precession and disk dispersal-driven tilting can both explain the current orbital geometry while Kozai\u2013Lidov cycles are suppressed by general relativity. While each hypothesis requires a mutual inclination between the two planets, nodal precession requires a much larger angle, which for WASP-107 is on the threshold of detectability with future Gaia astrometric data. As nodal precession has no stellar type dependence, but disk dispersal-driven tilting does, distinguishing between these two models is best done on the population level. Accurately estimating this planet occurrence rate requires both a well-vetted list of planets and a clear understanding of the stars searched for planets. Previous ground-based follow-up observations have, through a variety of methods, sought to improve our knowledge of stars that are known to host planets. Kepler targets without detected planets, however, have not been subjected to the same intensity of follow-up observations. In this paper, we constrain better the stellar multiplicity for stars around which Kepler could have theoretically detected a transiting Earth-sized planet in the habitable zone. We subsequently aim to improve estimates of the exoplanet search completeness\u2014the fraction of exoplanets that were detected by Kepler\u2014with our analysis. By obtaining adaptive optics observations of 71 Kepler target stars from the Shane 3 m telescope at Lick Observatory, we detected 14 candidate stellar companions within 4'' of 13 target stars. Of these 14 candidate stellar companions, we determine through multiple independent methods that 3 are likely to be bound to their corresponding target star. We then assess the impact of our observations on exoplanet occurrence rate calculations, finding an increase in occurrence of 6% (0.9\u03c3) for various estimates of the frequency of Earth-like planets and an increase of 26% (4.5\u03c3) for super-Earths and sub-Neptunes.
